Genex Cooperative, Inc., is seeking a highly motivated individual available February through April/May 2010, to assist in the collection and processing of semen at our custom collection facilities.  The mission of the Genex Intern Program is to provide college students an enhanced work experience, gaining hands-on work experience, as well as exposing students to the many aspects of a custom semen collection facility

The successful candidate would assist in caring for bulls, health testing of bulls, and semen collection.  In addition, semen lab and shipping department experience will be a part of the position responsibilities.

In general, the position will provide overall experience in all areas of the custom collection operation.  In addition, networking will be available with the many divisions of Genex including Beef Programs, Production, and Domestic Marketing.

Qualifications:

Applicants should be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Animal or Dairy Science and should be in their junior or senior year.  Must have excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.  Knowledge of beef or dairy production is preferred.
