Genex Cooperative, Inc., is seeking a highly motivated individual to be intricately involved in the management of semen collection activities at Genex Dakota Sire Service.   This would include scheduling sires for collection, providing leadership in collection activities, and assisting in the processing of semen.  Other duties would include the care of feeding of the bulls, the management of the health testing protocols to qualify semen for export.  In addition this person would be responsible for monitoring the health of the bulls and obtaining veterinary service as required.

Other duties would include conducting "on farm" collections and semen checks as needed as well as being responsible for the overall maintenance, and repair of the facility and equipment.

In general, good communication skills and the ability to interact with others will be important as the Senior Herdsman will have significant contact with customers and be communicating their needs to the Custom Collection Manager and others within the facility.

Qualifications:

Applicants should have a Degree in Agriculture, Animal or Dairy Science or equivalent experience. Must have excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.  Knowledge of beef cattle production is preferred.
