Major Areas of Accountability

Genex Cooperative, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated individual to assist with GENESIS nucleus and QUANTUM herd activities, including but not limited to:

• Selection of GENESIS and QUANTUM progeny for promotional use, including preparation and photography of those daughters; and assist in the production of marketing and sales support materials.

• Provide assistance with tours of GENESIS facilities and nucleus herds

• Evaluate QUANTUM performance in large usage test herds, including recording of breeding, calving and health records.

• Participate in the collection and administration of genomic testing and DNA data collection

The successful candidate will work as part of the Genex dairy genetics team and gain experience or exposure in A.I. product development activities such as genomic selection for sire procurement, advanced reproductive technologies used in GENESIS, and phenotypic data collection to enable calculation of breeding values.

Qualifications

Applicants should be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Dairy or Animal Science. The successful candidate must also have excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to work well independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of dairy genetics and dairy cattle judging is preferred. Travel is required.
