GENEX Recognizes Customers for Excellent Herd Genetics and Reproduction

SHAWANO, Wisconsin — Annually, GENEX presents Excellence in Genetics & Reproduction awards to members and customers who achieve outstanding results.

“The awards give us the opportunity to congratulate dairy producers across the U.S. for reproductive and genetic success within their herds,” states Kristi Fiedler, GENEX Associate Vice President of U.S. Technical Services. “Demonstrating their reproductive proficiency, this year’s winning herds averaged a 35% pregnancy rate and 53% first service conception rate for cows. These dairies are among the industry’s elite.”

Awards are presented in four categories. The winners are:

Dairies with less than 500 cows
Platinum: Weisenbeck Farms LLC, Durand, Wisconsin
Gold: Neil & Margie Breunig and Joe & Emily Heise Dairy, Lodi, Wisconsin
Silver: Holmesville Dairy, Argyle, Wisconsin
Honorable Mention: Klein’s Cow Palace, LLC, Lake City, Minnesota

Dairies with 500-2,000 cows
Schilling Farms, Darlington, Wisconsin
Leix Farms, Inc., Montfort, Wisconsin
Hinsch Farms Inc., Goodhue, Minnesota

Dairies with more than 2,000 cows
Platinum: SunRidge Dairy, Nampa, Idaho
Plymouth Dairy Farms, Inc., LeMars, Iowa
Mathews Dairy Farms, Inc., Portales, New Mexico
Darlington Ridge Farms, Darlington, Wisconsin
Honorable Mention:
Mapleview Dairy LLC, Madrid, New York

Platinum: Seneca Valley Farm, Burdett, New York
Coleman Ponderosa, Coleman, Wisconsin
SunRidge Dairy, Nampa, Idaho
Honorable Mention:
Gardeau Crest Dairy, Perry, New York


The winners were determined through a matrix calculation factoring the dairy’s pregnancy rate, service rate, conception rate, percent pregnant by 150 days in milk (DIM), sexed semen use and genetic level of service sires.
