CRI supports ag industry while helping local families

SHAWANO, Wisconsin — Employees of Cooperative Resources International (CRI) recently worked together to ensure needy families in Shawano County had enough milk through the holidays.

For two weeks during the month of December, CRI held a milk money drive where employees contributed money towards purchasing half gallons of milk. That milk was then donated to the Shawano Area Food Panty And Resource Center (SAFPARC). SAFPARC is a non-profit organization committed to serving all those in need in the Shawano area, particularly in regards to food distribution and personal care items.

Through the course of those two weeks, CRI was able to donate 300 half gallons of milk, providing those in need with an extra half gallon to have around the holidays.

"All of the people who get help through SAFPARC were thrilled to have that extra milk. Every half gallon CRI donated was quickly used," states Flo Withers of SAFPARC. "We truly appreciate the donations. Families often hug and thank us for what we give, but it is the compassion of the community and organizations like CRI that allow us to do what we do. Without these donations, SAFPARC wouldn't exist."
