International Guests Embark on Profit Tours with CRI
SHAWANO, Wis. - During the week of October 5, Cooperative Resources International (CRI) hosted over 75 visitors from ten different countries including Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Panama, Iran, Czech Republic, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Mexico. The 2009 Profit Tour began with the World Dairy Expo at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wis. While in Madison, guests participated in the trade show and viewed many of the industry's elite cows.
The second half of the Profit Tour focused on the CRI advantage at herds in central and northeastern Wisconsin. Herds visited include: Tidy View Dairy, Kaukauna, Wis., MilkSource Genetics, Kaukauna, Wis., Harmony-Ho Holsteins, Stratford, Wis., Hall's Calf Ranch, Kewaunee, Wis., Tilkens Dairy, New Franken, Wis., S&S Ag Enterprises, Sturgeon Bay, Wis., and Dallman East River Dairy, Brillion, Wis.
While visiting these herds, participants saw firsthand the results of utilizing high Lifetime Net Merit sires and programs such as CRI Mating Appraisal for Profit (MAP). Visitors also had an opportunity to learn from the owners and managers as they explored farming practices in the United States.
In addition to the farm tours, guests participated in educational seminars to learn more about CRI, genomics and CRI GenChoiceTM. International visitors also witnessed the expansion projects at the Genex facility in Shawano, Wis., and met with various company representatives.
