Interactive Team Learning for Field Marketers

Sometimes, sales people are so busy servicing their regular accounts and prospecting for new business that they can lose sight of the basic wants, needs and expectations of the very people they desire to serve. A new training resource called Agri-Marketing / Live, helps agri-salespeople stay sharp and alert to the constantly changing needs of their farm clients.

Our Agri-Marketing / Live video camera travels to the farms and ranches of producers and growers all over the country, to learn first hand what they expect from the salespeople who serve them.

We also visit with Field Marketers from a variety of different agri-business organizations to discover what they are doing to help their farm customers and members to be more profitable.

These interviews are placed on video CD's for use by sales managers at meetings with their field staff. Their purpose is to stimulate discussion and dialogue among agri-sales professionals to help them discover new and better ways to serve their farm clients.

The following lists some of the features of the Agri-Marketing / Live process:

  • Provides a comprehensive curriculum - Agri-Marketing / Live topics cover a wide range of everyday situations relevant to serving the ever changing needs of livestock and crop producers.
  • Three different user applications are available - The Agri-Marketing / Live materials can be used in different ways including:
    • Facilitated team discussions at traditional sales group meetings.
    • Distance training using video-teleconferencing.
    • And use by individuals completing modules on a self-study basis.
  • Includes Complete Support Materials - each CD includes facilitator and participant support documents that can be printed for use at team meetings as follows:
    • Facilitator's Guide - provides detailed notes, tips and suggestions for leading team meetings including discussion starters, questions to pose, highlights of key concepts, summary points and suggestions for additional learning activities and follow-up.
    • Participants' Notes - a handout for every person is provided for use in recording ideas as they view the video segments and for reference during follow-up discussion.
    • The Professional Selling Letter - a four page sales newsletter accompanies each Module. This reference document provides a written overview of the topics and key principles covered on each video CD.
